Tzedakah Campaign 2011 - 2012

Tzedakah BoxDear Congregant,

We are writing as co-chairs of this year’s Temple B’rith Kodesh Tzedakah Campaign. We are honored and proud to serve TBK in this role. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to tell you why the Tzedakah Campaign is so important to Temple and to us.

We became TBK members in 2002 to meet the religious school needs of our children and found that Temple fulfilled our spiritual needs too. TBK has brought us closer to our children, friends, and community. TBK is where both of our daughters became bat mitzvah. It is where we enjoy welcoming Shabbat, and observing Jewish holidays and traditions. We have learned more about ourselves and Judaism through Kollel classes, Torah study and religious school.

We thank you for your previous support that has helped sustain the programs and services in which we have all participated. In order to ensure that TBK is here for every generation it is incumbent upon each us to find our own ways to continue to contribute time, talent, and treasure. Annual commitments alone do not generate enough income to fully support the Temple’s budget; without additional contributions, we cannot sustain all of our wonderful activities.  This is why, in spite of the tough economic times, we are personally finding a way to reach a little deeper and give a little more to this year’s Tzedakah Campaign to support the programs that mean so much to us.

We hope that your personal link to TBK will compel you to find a way to give more too. This is a critical time for our congregation, financially.  It’s more important than ever that you realize the impact you can have by stepping up and supporting TBK at a meaningful level.  One hundred percent participation of our congregants in this year’s Tzedakah campaign is our hope. Even the smallest contribution is important and tells us that TBK matters to you. Please consider an increased gift to ensure our programming for 2012. Your continued support of our temple community is the greater gift and beyond measure.

Thank you for your generosity in fulfilling the mitzvah of Tzedakah. We wish you the best throughout this year and a year of meaningful connectedness to your TBK community. We will see you at Temple! For assistance or more information contact Debbie Zeger at 244-7060 ext. 229 or DZeger[at]tbk.org.

Warmest regards,
Daniel & Linda Mendelson

TBK is deeply grateful to these Foundations for helping to enrich the lives of our members and all members of the Rochester Jewish community.

Charitable Giving Starts at TBK

Our Membership Commitment Committee has been reaching out to TBK congregants to encourage everyone to consider annual payments to temple as a charitable commitment rather than a fee for service or "dues." We have adopted the slogan "Charitable Giving Starts at TBK," an approach that merits consideration at each stage of our lives.

During the past two years more than $100,000 has been raised in additional annual membership commitments from generous members. In order to recognize our most committed members, we have created new enhanced membership categories:

Kavod (Honor) $2,087 to $3,000
Simcha (Joy) $3,001 to $5,000
Shalom (Peace) $5,001 to $7,500
Bracha (Blessing) $7,501 to $10,000
Tzedek (Justice) $10,001 and over

If you have any questions about these new enhanced membership categories or would like to make an additional membership commitment please contact Debbie Zeger, Director of Development, at 244-7060 ext. 229 or dzeger[at]tbk.org. Your generosity will help make temple more accessible and available to all who wish to be affiliated. It is a part of our mission to welcome all and I'm thankful for all the members who help us to realize this vision.
