Charitable Giving Starts at TBK

Why should I give to the TBK Foundation?

Only you can answer that question. It is up to each donor to determine if an investment in the TBK Foundation will help carry out the legacy you wish to leave to future generations. Only you can determine why Temple B'rith Kodesh is important to you now and in the future.

Here are some answers from others:

  • To assure that the multi-faceted aspect of Temple - marry to bury, birth to death, our spiritual home - remains in the future as a continuum of Jewish life in Rochester.
  • For whatever reason, Temple must be here for those who want it and may not be able to afford it.
  • There is a community here, a home, a friend - it's where we learn values that we use daily.
  • My family has a long history here. My children may have left home, but here is where they are connected, through history.
  • To ensure a strong synagogue to perpetuate Reform Judaism and the Rochester Jewish Community.
  • If I don't who will?
  • What if there weren't TBK? It would change the Jewish landscape of Rochester. TBK is endemic to the Jewish landscape of Rochester.
  • For our children's children to learn the ways of our 5000 year old religion.
  • For the continuation of our faith, to teach value to our children.

Why might you be interested in giving?

Imagine the possibilities an investment that you can create for future generations of TBK members. Imagine how their children and the community's children will benefit from your well-conceived foresight and generosity. Imagine how good it will feel to know that you have made a difference in perpetuity.

Will you take your rightful place among the other benefactors of our Temple-past and present that have supported us for 160 years?

Please invest in the Temple B'rith Kodesh Foundation.

The TBK Foundation Legacy Circle

Become of Charter Member!

Have you stopped to think where Temple B'rith Kodesh would be without the support and donations of those who came before us?

Our predecessors could not have known the specific needs of the temple as it would evolve, but trusted that their gifts would provide for the spiritual, education and programmatic needs of the congregation as well as its facilities. They knew that their gifts would be used to perpetuate our Jewish faith and tradition for generations to come.

You can do the same for future generations by becoming a charter member of the Temple B'rith Kodesh Foundation's new Legacy Circle.

The TBK Foundation Legacy Circle has been established to recognize those who have made a commitment to the temple's future by including the TBK Foundation in their estate plans, whether through bequests, life
insurance policies or retirement plans.

As a member, with your permission, your name will appear on our honored donor list and you will receive Foundation updates as well as invitations to Legacy Circle events. Our inaugural event is planned for the spring of 2010; details will be forthcoming.

Simply sign a non-binding letter of intent to join the Legacy Circle. You can make arrangements by calling Debbie Zeger, Director of Development at Temple B'rith Kodesh, 244-7060 ext. 229.

If you have already included the Temple B'rith Kodesh Foundation in your estate plans please let us know so we can appropriately recognize you. Please note that the Temple B'rith Kodesh Foundation must be named as the beneficiary if you wish the corpus of your gift endowed in perpetuity.

Thank you for your past support of Temple B'rith Kodesh. We look forward to welcoming you to the TBK Foundation Legacy Circle.
