WRJ/Sisterhood is spearheading a campaign to increase recycling in the community. Only number 1 and number 2 plastics are currently recycled in Monroe County. We will be collecting plastic containers with the number 5 on them. Examples of #5 containers are yogurt containers, take out plastics such as from Wegman's, salad bar containers, and many prescription drug bottles. Bring in your #5 plastics to one of the 3 red boxes by the school entrance, the South Entrance or the old West Portico entrance. The plastics must be clean. We will be sending them to a company in Cortland where they are recycled into high performance products for your bathroom, table and kitchen.

Our Wall of Remembrance is a special place in our building to honor the memories of loved ones. Here, the name of your loved one is displayed among 750 names during the year. The week of their yahrzeit, the plaque is moved to the center of the display, next to the eternal light. In this way, your loved one's memory is a visible part of the congregation, and gives us all a reminder on the anniversary of their passing. The names of all the people appearing on the Wall of Remembrance will also be listed in the Book of Remembrance that is published each year during the High Holidays. If you wish to order a memorial plaque for the Wall of Remembrance or if you have any questions, please call the office at 244-7060 and we will be happy to give you more information.

We say 'L'Chaim' - To Life - at times of joy and special events. The Tree of Life display is a wonderful place to permanently honor a simcha. By purchasing a leaf or branch on the tree, we can commemorate this happening in the life of the congregation. This display is meant to capture only happy occasions and brings a smile as we remember. It's a great place to remember a B'nai Mitzvah, a birth, a wedding, an anniversary, a special birthday, or any of life's special times. Please contact the Temple office at 244-7060 for information.
