TBKers
TBKers are a lunch and discussion group for retirees and any others who can attend mid-day meetings; all interested Temple members are cordially invited to join us. We meet on the fourth Thursday of every month for a brown-bag lunch and a speaker.
TBKers Korner for September

Deadlines being what they are, this is the first chance we have had to report on the TBKers' annual picnic, which was held in July. It was all strictly according to tradition, and we particularly want to thank Bonnie Abrams of the Jewish Federation, who sang for us; Paul Krebs and Arthur Herz, who did all the grilling; and Betty Rockford, who donated the traditional chocolate-chip cookies.

As for September, please note that the TBKers will not meet this month because it is one of those years when a meeting would conflict with the holidays. But don't worry; we'll be back in October! See you then.

TBKers August Newsletter

Dear TBKers:

The TBKers' picnic in July went exactly according to tradition with hots, veggie-burgers, salads, cookies and watermelon. We particularly want to thank the following: Paul Krebs and Arthur Herz, who did all the grilling; Bonnie Abrams of the Jewish Federation, who entertained us with Jewish songs; and Betty Rockford, who donated the chocolate-chip cookies.

Now for August, the program committee is pleased to present Ms. Denise Dragoone of Excellus/Blue Cross-Blue Shield. Currently Vice President of Marketing Operations, she served for several years as Vice President of Medicare Operations. She will discuss what the recent changes in health care mean to seniors. This is a great chance to learn about the new laws from a real expert.

The meeting will take place in the Ames-Amzalak Atrium on Thursday, August 26, starting at 12:00 noon with the usual brown-bag lunch. We look forward to seeing you all.

Special notice: No TBKers Meeting in September! This year is one of those years when a meeting would conflict with the holidays. In fact, the Temple will be closed for Sukkot on the day we would normally meet. (Sukkot services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on that day.) So after some consideration, the program committee decided to have no meeting in September. But don't worry; we'll be back in operation in October!

B'shalom,
Mim & Joe Altman
