Thanksgiving Baskets Project

Thanksgiving Food Baskets Project

Once again this year, Temple B'rith Kodesh will be helping those less fortunate in our community by providing Thanksgiving Baskets.
We will be supplying complete baskets including turkeys to 33 TEMPRO families and 50 Baskets without meat (we have had a gracious donor who will be supplying Halal meat for our baskets from an approved site) for No One Left Behind,- recently resettled refugee families from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Baskets will need to be brought back to TBK on Sunday November 18th at the start of Religious School. We will be collecting them at the South Portico

Parashat Vayetzei

In this Torah portion, Jacob has a dream in which angels go up and down a ladder connecting earth to heaven. God appears before Jacob and renews the covenant that God had made with Abraham. Jacob sees Rachel, Laban’s daughter, tending sheep and wishes to marry her. Laban tricks Jacob into marrying his eldest daughter, Leah, after seven years of labor. In exchange for another seven years of work, Jacob is allowed to marry Rachel. Jacob has many sons with Leah, but Rachel is unable to conceive. Finally, God blesses Rachel, and she has a son, whom she names Joseph.
