“Tempro” stands for TEMple PROject
to help the homeless!
In 1971 members of the Temple B’rith Kodesh community became concerned about the living conditions at the Cadillac Hotel where the Monroe County Department of Human Services placed homeless individuals and families. Members of Temple B’rith Kodesh raised funds and built build three homes as a healthier, safer alternative. From this beginning the Tempro Development Company Inc., (TEMple PROject) was born.
Tempro’s programs include:
Eleven housing units in the Marketview Heights neighborhood of Rochester serving over 90 families each year. Tempro owns the properties and manages the program in collaboration with the Monroe County Department of Human Services (MCDHS) and PathStone Corp.
Twenty two units in a suburban garden apartment complex with an on-site full time case manager. Tempro owns the properties and manages the program in collaboration with Sojourner House.
