TBK Music Vision Statement
We believe that music is a pathway to the soul and central to our feeling of community.  Music is deeply embedded in our lives and Jewish practices, and expresses our deepest feelings and thoughts.  Music within the service inspires us, enhances our prayer, forges connections between generations, and creates touchstones for life's significant memories.

Our vision is realized when:
- All feel musically welcome and comfortable;
- Music is inspirational and transformative;
- We balance innovation with a strong tie to our historical roots;
- We provide high quality musical experiences, diverse styles of music and instrumentation;
- There are many opportunities to participate in singing as a congregation.

Through the support of congregants, senior staff, and the Board of Trustees, music at TBK will continue to thrive, connecting us to Jewish liturgical music, and helping us to express our connection to God and Judaism.

Signups are ongoing for our TBK Choirs!

We have 2 different groups to choose from depending on your skill level and commitment:

KOL SIMCHA- our TBK Adult Choir meets several times throughout the year.  This is the group that helps to lead occasional Shabbat services such as: Jazz Shabbat and our annual Spector Music Shabbat. These are shorter time commitments, generally 1-3 rehearsals and then the service.  You do not need to be an expert at reading music, though some beginning skills are helpful.  This group is open to any congregants above bar/bat mitzvah age.

The TBK High Holy Day Choir is the choir that sings from the choir loft during our beautiful High Holy Day services.  This choir is also open to any congregants above bar/bat mitzvah age.  The High Holy Day music is more extensive and complex, so we do require all singers to have some skill reading music. Joining this choir is generally a commitment to be at 4 rehearsals starting in late August, and agreeing to be in the choir loft for the High Holy Day services.

Please consider joining us in the choir this year, and experience leading services from a different point of view!  You must be on our official mailing list to receive the complete rehearsal schedule.  If you’re interested, email Keri Berger to discuss the possibilities.
