Social Action

Social Action
As Reform Jews, we are engaged in the ongoing work of tikkun olam, (repairing our world). Throughout our history, Temple B'rith Kodesh and its Rabbis have been known for a commitment to both social action and social justice. We invite you to become part of a community striving to help those in need and effect social change.

TBK members assist newly arrived Afghan and Iraqi families, and assist them in tasks such as registering their children for school, become familiar with public transportation, connecting their family with medical care, and setting up banking. If you would like additional information, please email KOP Caring Circle organizer Deb Abell by clicking here or contact TBK and Social Action Committee members Irwin Solomon or Josh Herz |

Temple B'rith Kodesh is proud to host Jewish Family Services Rochester in our building. Two of the many programs JFS offers are especially supported by the Social Action Committee and the TBK community. The Brighton Food Cupboard at JFS helps reduce and prevent hunger and food insecurity for people living in Brighton and surrounding communities. The Pencils & Papers program at JFS serves the educational and creative needs of children by providing free school supplies to heachers in high need schools. |
