Welcome to the website of Temple B'rith Kodesh!

TBK Religious School

At Temple B’rith Kodesh Religious School, you will find a warm, welcoming, and inclusive school which offers its students the opportunity to explore their Judaism in a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment. They will be able to discover what Judaism means to them as individuals as well as within a community.

Our goal is to expose our students to the traditional aspects of a Jewish education, such as Hebrew language, prayers, holidays, Torah, Israel, and Jewish values. Through this learning journey each student develops his/her/their own personal Jewish identity while learning in a warm and supportive atmosphere.

We will not tell our students what to believe. Instead, we will share with them what Judaism teaches about such topics as ethics, God and values, and we will encourage them to make their own choices and decisions based on what they have learned.

Religious school (Grades K - 7)

Sundays 9:30 - 12:00

This weekly program, for students from kindergarten through 7th grade, provides the skills, knowledge and experiences which are the basis of a strong Reform Jewish identity.  Jewish holidays, values, history, Torah, the land of Israel, are among the major focuses of the curriculum.

Students will also have enrichment opportunities; Hebrew Through Movement, Cooking, Storytelling, Music, Prayer learning, and Art built into their weekly schedule.

Hebrew school (Grades 3-6)

Tuesdays 4:00 - 5:30  OR
Sundays 8:30 - 9:15
(pick 1)

Third grade students will be able to identify the names and sounds of the Hebrew letters as well as develop their decoding skills.

Grades fourth through sixth will continue to practice their decoding skills and increase their Hebrew fluency. They will be introduced to a set of blessings and prayers they will  be able to recite and lead during Shabbat services as well as at their B'nai Mitzvah.

Our Tuesday option has the added benefit of programming developed and run by the Israeli Shinshinim staying in our city for the year. This is an incredibly meaningful enrichment to the program and a wonderful opportunity for our students to build lasting relationships with our Israeli student ambassadors.

Madrichim Program (Grades 8-12)

Sundays (varying times between
9:30-12 depending on grade)

Our Madrichim Program is overseen
by Jacqui Lipschitz

Students in eighth through twelfth grades can participate in Religious School as Madrichim (classroom aides) assisting in our classrooms, assisting and leading enrichment activities, or helping in other areas around the school. Depending on their grade level, students will spend varying amounts of time assisting/leading younger students and also spend time with their own classmates in various learning environments. Our Madrichim are a crucial part of our programming as they serve as positive role models to all of our younger students.
