Religious Education

Religious school (Grades Pre K - 7)

Sundays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

This weekly program, for students from kindergarten through 7th grade, provides the skills, knowledge and experiences which are the basis to a strong Reform Jewish identity.  The curriculum emphasizes Jewish holidays, values, history, Torah, and the Land of Israel as key areas of focus.

Students will also enjoy enrichment activities such as Hebrew Through Movement, cooking, T'fillah, music, art, and engaging with Shinshinim - Israeli high school graduates living and working in Rochester for the year.

New for the 2024 - 2025 school year:

• Grade 8 - The new class is designed to bridge the gap between the traditional Pre-K to 7 curriculum and our Madrichim (classroom assistant) program.  If offers leadership development opportunities for our post B'nai Mitzvah students as well as comprehensive experience that combines practical leadership skills with Jewish identity-building.

Madrichim Program (Grades 9-12)

Sundays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Students in ninth through twelfth grades can participate in the Religious School program as Madrichim (school aides). They will assist in classrooms, lead enrichment activities, and support various areas around the school. As Madrichim, they will spend time helping and leading younger students, serving as positive role models and playing a crucial role in our programming.
